If My Kitchen Could Talk....

She would say... "I could really use a face lift!" Yeah I gave my kitchen a gender. Since she multitasks, provides the meals, and brings the family together, I knew she had to be a woman. So how about a name....hmm! How about Big Momma?!!! (hee-hee)

You know it always amazes me as to the things I get inspired by from other blogs. I was soooo inspired by the kitchen I saw on The Nester in her 31 Days of Lovely Limitations series. What did I get out of it, you may ask?!!! USE WHAT YOU GOT, BABY! Its a wrap!

So my kitchen has great bones. No need for a big over hall. Just some little enhancements that provide big impact, like painting the cabinets.

I have my preferences as far as paint though:

via
 White....
via
Or Black...

I am really leaning towards white, but I know that translate to high maintenance.  But with the rest of my house being painted taupe, I know the black will fell really heavy, and I may get tired  of it more easily then the white. The white will give that light fresh feeling and serve as the relief from the res of the house?

Then again I could achieve the best of both worlds through a couple of different applications:

via
Two toned painted kitchen cabinets... I luuuv the pot rack and the cabinet hardware!

via
White cabinets and black counter-top....

via
White cabinets and black tile back-splash...

Now I know Big Momma could appreciate all of these. I just need to make up my mind and make some things happen to give her the face lift she deserves...finally! What are your preferences?

"I Can't Believe You Made That!" CAKE???

I Can't Believe You Made That Cake
I can't believe that there is a cake out there called..."I Can't Believe You Made That!" How clever is that? It is stunning I must say, and eeeeee-z (it appears) to make.  I am just flipping through my favorite channels and came across this new show on The Cooking Channel called Simply Baking with Lorraine Pascale.

Simply Baking
First, I was taken aback by how stunning she was, then by her addicting accent when she speaks, and last by how skinny she is to have a show called  Simply Baking! This just so happened to be her premiere show and after doing a Google search on her, turns out she has got a few tricks up her sleeve.

She has a book called "Baking Made Easy," and she is a model!

Sports Illustrated
Go figure, a model that bakes!
