Reflection...

You know what has been so great about blogging for me this year? The fact that it has been the only thing that has given me a glimpse into who I am as a person, a loving Mother and Wife, a homemaker, and a professional. Not only have I shared this with my readers, but also with myself.

After reflecting on some previous blogs of mine...I can see that I need to really work on the direction I wish to take my blog for 2012. I am really not the same person I was just a year ago when I first begin this blog. You see, I have learned that I really want to be involved with my blog and put more time into it by putting more time into me.

Would you say that your blog is a direct reflection of yourself?!! I mean really, where else can I document in words and pictures things that YOU love or don't love! I can honestly say I feel that way. Because you really do get a pretty good feel of a person through their blogs. Even though they share only what they want you to know, there are some pretty straight forward bloggers out there who share things that are honest to themselves whether we like it or not.

Maybe we share more things on our blogs then we share with anyone else because its a network of people who share the same likes and dislikes! Through reading other blogs I have been able reach out and share with people whom I probably would not have a chance to know without my blog and I truly cherish that.

Its almost as if my blog is a real person like a BFF. I don't know about y'all, but umm I think about it all the time. Yeah so what if we do not use perfect grammar or we have a misspelled word or two or three okay or four! Who cares?!! I think its great because it shows honesty in the fact that we are not perfect.

No I did not get to spend as much time as I would have liked this year. And no I did not get to do alot of the projects I wanted to do this year. But I have learned that I have to and NEED to take more time for those things because its things that I love. And to share that with others...blogging keeps me sane friends.

So I said all of that to say this...! My blog will now be a direct reflection on the betterment of me! I have to make promises to myself and follow through on alot things that I want for myself. And I am making a promise to me to document it all through my blog as I take it and me to the next level!!

I love all these mirror galleries for the simple fact that no matter how many mirrors you look in, even though they are all different and have their own characteristics and personality, there is only one thing that reflects back and that is you!!! That is an analogy for you and that's real folks..that is real!

Relax, Relate, Release!

This is what December in Central Florida is looking like....high palms and low fog!

This is a dirt road behind my house that leads to another neighborhood. Just spending my week at home with he kids and waiting for the new year to come in. This precious time I cherish, because it only comes few and far between when you are at home doing absolutely nothing!

Vintage Shopping in Greensboro

While in High Point I had a day off (Sunday) to do some thrifting in downtown Greensboro for day with my boss! We were not sure how it was going to go since it was Sunday, but we lucked out. There happened to be a few big events going on for the holidays. I had a FAB time and enjoyed all the shops, especially one in particular, forgive me, but I can not remember the name of it, but I have great pics to back it up.

This was our first shop and ended up being winning the best ever for the day! It actually hosts to several vendors that house there products in cute vignettes throughout. These were my faves:

These were the window displays. I spent about an hour in each one touching everything. My boss could not believe how much I loved the vintage dining room. Her exact words were "you can pick that up at anyone yard sale for nothing!" I think the entire set was a ridiculous price of $200 and some odd dollars. If I had a place for glass without kids they would have been shipping this baby to me.

My next fave (in the same shop) was this vender "The Vintage Nest," how cute is that. It had a little masculine and feminine flair to it that I was attracted to! An the branches with the snow flake were amazing.

This last one was just so well put together! Every little item worked as if it should all go in the same room!

Another fun place we went visited was this cute little fair where a bunch of vendors gathered in a restaurant called Hand to Hand. It was all homemade and vintage items for sale. What was so funny was we actually ran into a couple of  the designers form the studio and found out they had shops of there own set-up. The one above is Allison...her shop is called Nosilla (her name backwards). She will have an Etsy shop staring in January. She looked so chic that day, we are used to seeing her working clothes mostly. Also Jo had a couple shops set up in the first shop we visited.

All and all it made fora great day...there were a couple of other things, but I have to wait until after Christmas to share!!

Update - Genevieve Rugs

So, I blogged a couple weeks ago about these great Genevieve rugs that I had the pleasure of seeing in person and getting close and personal with while at our photo-shoot High Point, NC. Here are my pics that I salvaged from my now broken camera:

Here is a great example of what my screen looks like:

You be the judge! REALLY BAD or REALLY REALLY BAD?!!! Well...anyways, time for an upgrade.

Well, here are my salvaged pics from the studio of the Genevieve rugs. We tried the diversion technique to hall them out into our rental car,but we figured getting them on the plane would be an issue. But I did manage to get 2yds of this flame-stitch chevron fabric that reminded of her rug for my sons room.

Do not quite know what I am going to do with it yet, but I can't wait to get started!

Table Setting is something I love, but I just do not do. This Christmas I am going to pursue my first formal table setting. So I am looking for inspiration and came across this simple yet dramatic table setting:

Fabric Love

I had a chance to break away from photo-shoot for a few between earlier last week and stumbled upon (ok, I have been waiting to get back here since my last trip) a fabric store where I laid eyes on a FAB-U-LOUS fabric for my mater bedroom since the theme is going peacock.

Its a really bad picture, but I promise it is gorge-a-must! I found it at 1502 Fabrics in High Point, NC! Do not know who its made by or anything, but I will get all those details soon. Its a really great smoky blue with some gray undertones, but it has these tone on tone gold metallic all through it. It very romantic! I think I would like to use it as my drapery fabric!

Genevieve Gorder Rugs and My Drama

I do not think I shared with you that I am in High Point, NC again for photo-shoot after being here for Market a few weeks ago. I did however share with you my living nightmare of my daughter deleting ALL of my wonderful precious memoirs from two weeks of my life that I will NEVER get back. I am sooo... not over it (as you can tell). So now my drama is that my piece of ish camera is not working while I am here. Which adds to the lingering drama of me asking myself "WHY don't I get with the times" and finally get an i-phone. Well, now I have an excuse to upgrade on a camera!!

OK, so enough of my drama and back to the fun stuff. Genevieve,if you do not already know, teamed with Capel rugs to create some awesome looking rugs. I am actually seeing them here at the studio in person and coming up with a plan of how I can take one back home with me to Florida.

This one to the left is my favorite! I am imagining this on my dark painted concrete floors. My husband and I are looking into to this right now. We are getting a couple of expert opinions, then we are going to look into the cheapest route of achievement. I snapped my own picks, but can't get them off my camera because, I did not have my memory card in at the time and I do not have my USB cord with me. Sad ha??!!! Okay, now I am off track again with my drama! As soon as I get
access I will update you with my pics. You can see more of my faves below!

Being at the studio here in Highpoint is great! I get to see all kinds of great furniture accessories and accents that I would not get to see anywhere else. Plus its great seeing the magic behind these beautiful shots you see in catalogs. That is why I do love my job sometimes because of these fun things I get to experience.

Easy Peasy Christmas Decor

Came across this "easy peasy", yet wonderful DIY for Christmas decor on Nichole's Parlour blog. She has one of my favorite blogs. Her design aesthetic is exquisite! I think you can even make these into ornaments too! Check out how to do it here!
