Sneak-a-peek!

Fi-nal-ly! I am making some things happen around the hizzy... These are most def some before the the before shots.

So we have pulled up all the carpet and padding in the main living areas and soon to be our master bedroom. We are two weeks into the project, but right on time because I am not rushing or forcing this project.
Where ever you see the hash marks is where we currently have exposed concrete floor. This is the first of many projects I want o achieve this year, but patience is going to be the key for me.  The Hub and I have to fit this into our already hectic schedules with him working two jobs and me working all day and running the kids here and there in the evening for what ever practices.

Remember this is what I am going for above! Yes that dark. Until we can afford wood and the kids get older, painting the concrete is definitely the way to go.

We still need to sand, fill all the cracks, and clean and prep furiously before we prime, paint, and seal.

We even took up the tile in the foyer because I did not want continuous run with no breaks. I am all giddy inside because I am finally putting hands on my house. We figured the only way its going to happen is to purposely set aside scheduled times to work on the things we want done around here.  I really can not wait to show after pics.

Viola and Vera

I say they made a pretty good match last night at the Oscars. Just in time for St. Patty's day too! She was nominated and predicted to win for best actress in a leading role for "The Help," but Meryl swiped it up. I think if one was to lose then....you know where I am going right?!!

This beauty of gown in emerald was made just for Viola Davie by Vera Wang. I thought it was really regal and I loved that she rocked the natural hair. I love the clutch too. Wish I could see the shoes.

Just the Right Pop of RED

1-2-3-4-5-6-7-8
No color makes a statement more on its own then red. Anytime you can inject this in to a room or even in your ensemble it automatically becomes a statement piece. Some people just want a little and some may want a lot, but when used in the right medium it can be the perfect pop. Red can combine with other colors but most times I see it at its best when its combined with black! This is why I need want to own more than one house just so I can do one in each style or color I want. Red will not fit anything I am doing currently, but I can still dream or hit the lotto!

Favorites Pieces

You know how you have a piece in your wardrobe that is your favorite to the point that you wear it out before its time. Well..this would be one of those pieces for me. I would find a way to rock this with everything; like jeans, slacks, or skirts. I would dress this up, down and through! I love the ethnic appeal and it looks like it has walked the runway.

Romantic Valentine Setting

1-2-3-4-5-6
For all of us hopeless romantics here is my idea of a Romantic Valentine Setting. Well equipped with a beautiful all white outdoor setting, flowing white drapes, white table linens a medley of pink flowers to spread about he floor, charming chandelier, ambient candlelight votive in multiple shades of pinks and purples, lovely drinks, and sweets for my sweet!

This setting gives you the perfect backdrop to rock this beauty! Ooooh...I am dreaming now. I gotta brag though, I sure do look good in pink! No need for shoes in this backdrop because I want to take full advantage of these white painted wood floors. Just need a fresh pedi!

Now do not forget the chocolates! What more do you need other than yo man! His job is to bring the sparkle in more than one way...right?!!!! This maybe a stretch, but a girl can dream. Anybody got any plans that puts this dream to shame or how about another hopeless romantic dream?!!

I am an avid fan of Kelly Wearstler. Its like she could be from a another world because her design aesthetic has always been so before anyone time. She must travel to the highest of peeks and lowest of valleys in the depths of the ocean to find or even bring together in her rooms. Its always ground breaking and it leaves you saying "How In DEE Hell!!!" For instance look at the mix of unbelievable textures and patterns in this bedroom from her home! DID I LIE?

My Pinterest via Sexy Drinks via Sweet Paul

How about some of these?!! We can just promise each other, while lying thorough our teeth, how we are going to walk an extra lap for each donut we eat. Yeah..right! But I figure I can put down two okay three of these!

Let's enjoy our cocktails and donuts in this room and gasp over how great these blush drapes look on those taupe gray walls. Then we can talk about how we are bringing sexy back with brass, RIGHT? Look how great it loos on the coffee table adorned with all those lovely books and then on the curtain rods. DAMN thats hawt!

Then we can talk about where to find this blush paint color to recreate this monochromatic bedroom.

Let's end it on a good note by setting a "Ladies Craft Night" where we take on these DIY fabric pom-pom pillow project since we never really get enough time to hang out and do things WE ladies really want to do. I can make some more pretty drinks for us that night too!

So what say you?

I'm Hooked!

My Pinterest
Hey...how about checking me out when you get a chance! I can not stop myself. It's amazing the endless beauty out there. I must love it though because hours are like minutes on this thing. I would love for you to follow my boards.

This is the reason...

These were my wedding colors!!! I love this red console. This is such a  striking vignette! It gives me a jolt of energy. Look at those drapes and those long neck lamp silhouettes. You take away one thing and it can lose its integrity a little! I am in love.

I appreciate....

The new JCP ad campaign "Fair and Square." Its so tantalizing and doing exactly what is supposed to do which is causing a stir. I gotta say I can really appreciate the way they have cleaned up their ads. Its fresh, colorful, and screaming make this product your own. I also noticed that the models look like everyday people.

The pricing is also easy to understand, especially after leaving us hanging with those coupon commercials for awhile. Its based on three types of pricing, everyday, month long,a and best prices. Now I appreciate their $10 of  $25 coupons that they come out with seasonally, so I really hope this new ad does not mean that that goes away, but I guess we will see, right?!!

In all this frenzy, I  have come across a certain product I am interested in. Its a classic ceramic double gourd $40 lamp. 25" in height. Cute huh! They do have this in other colors.

Scarves In Time For Spring

I love scarves. Its such a great layer to liven up any outfit and so easy to rock. There are some pretty inspiring Springtime scarves at Anthropologie that range from $48 to $298!

No.45 above is sporting a splattered pattern in a very pretty color combo of cranberry, peaches and bananas with a touch of blue skies. I am hungry now!!! I want to have a passionate affair with No. 45.

Okay...so I am all inspired by this nifty 15 Ways to tie Scarves tool I came across on Pinterest. Have you seen it? You have to access the actual link and click on the numbers for all the great tips. I say they make all kinds of fashion tutorials this easy cuz a girl like me could use it, ya hiyah?!!

Shasta Lily
Flocked Briar
Split Stripe
These are more of my faves. Of course the more expensive ones...especially the Shasta Lily. These are nice right?!! Gotta love Anthropologie!
